Breakfast Recipies


-Cinnamon / Raisin Toast

Toast a slice of whole-wheat raisin bread and top with non- or low-fat cottage cheese with a sprinkle with cinnamon.

-Roll and Egg Up

Scramble and egg and roll it up in a whole-wheat tortilla filled with salsa and your favorite veggies (onions, mushrooms, peppers, broccoli etc.).

-Fruit slushies

Blend or stir in a 1/2 cup of plain, low-fat yogurt with orange, apple or banana juice, 1/3 cup of sliced banana and half a dozen fresh or frozen blueberries. Freeze overnight in a container. It will be ready to go by morning. As you let it defrost, you'll have a refreshing, fruity slushy.

-Pita Delite

Simply spread 3 tablespoons of hummus on a toasted whole-wheat pita.

-Melon bowl

Cut a cantaloupe or honeydew in half and stuff it with a ½ scoop of non- or low-fat cottage cheese.

-Fruit Medley

Stir in a 1/2 cup of plain low-fat yogurt and orange juice with half a frozen banana and a few frozen strawberries.

-Granola crunch

Add fresh fruit or granola to plain, low- or non-fat yogurt.

-Bagels and lox

Toast half a whole-wheat bagel and spread with ricotta (non-fat) and add some lox.

-Peanut Butter Apple Toast

Spread a tablespoon of peanut butter on a slice of whole-wheat bread and spread another tablespoon on an apple.

-Yogurt Fruit Waffle

Toast a whole-wheat waffle and top with low- or non-fat yogurt and sliced fresh fruit.

-Almond Oatmeal

Warm up a cup of oatmeal and add 2 tablespoons of slivered almonds on top.

-Banana and Peanut butter in a blanket

Spread a tablespoon of peanut butter on a slice of whole-wheat bread. Sprinkle with a teaspoon of Sunflower seeds if desired. Wrap around a banana.
